HARRISBURG – The Senate Majority Policy Committee will discuss conservative approaches to renewable energy during an upcoming workshop discussion at the state capitol in Harrisburg. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Room 461 Main Capitol.
“Pennsylvania is a national leader in energy production,” said Majority Policy Committee Chairman Senator David G. Argall (Schuylkill/Berks). “While we should be proud that we are doing our part to provide energy to the country, we must also keep in mind that we have an obligation to our citizens to provide clean air and clean water. By diversifying our energy portfolio, we can strike that essential balance to provide for both our economic and environmental concerns.”
The workshop discussion will provide statistics and opinions from various individuals and groups including the Pennsylvania Conservative Energy Forum, the Coalition for Community Solar Access, Community Energy, the Appalachian Region Independent Power Producers, and former U.S. Secretary of the Navy John Lehman Jr.
