Two projects in the 29th Senatorial District were awarded state grants to support planning for future recreational areas and economic development, according to State Senator David G. Argall (R-29). Carbon County will receive $50,000 to update its plans for future trails, greenways, and open spaces. The city of Hazleton will receive $35,000 to create a comprehensive plan with Greater Hazleton municipalities West Hazleton and Hazle Township to address quality of life and economic development improvements.   [Read More]

A project by Pottsville Centre, LLC to transform the upper six floors of the Schuylkill Trust Company building in downtown Pottsville on Center and Market Streets into sixty market-rate apartment units has been awarded a $3 million state grant, according to State Senator David G. Argall (R-29) and State Rep. Tim Twardzik (R-123). The grant will be matched with a private investment from the owner of the building.   [Read More]
