Applications for $50 Million in Crisis Grants for Fire and EMS Companies Now Available

HARRISBURG – Guidelines for the COVID-19 Crisis Fire Company and EMS Grant Program have been released and eligible organizations can now apply for these one-time grants, according to Senator David G. Argall.  The Senate and the House of Representatives both voted unanimously in favor of this program, which will provide direly needed support to first responders.

“Our brave first responders have put themselves on the line for our safety even more than usual during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Argall.  “I would encourage every fire and EMS company in Berks and Schuylkill County to apply for these well-deserved grants.”

A total of $50 million in grants will be distributed throughout Pennsylvania, with $44 million going to fire companies and $6 million going to EMS companies.  All fire and EMS companies that received a grant award from the 2019-2020 Fire Company and EMS Grant Program and register for the COVID-19 crisis grant program will receive an initial award equal to the amount they received earlier this year.

Eligible companies should visit this link for instructions on how to apply. Applications must be submitted by Friday, August 7th to be considered for a grant.
