Senate Majority Policy Committee to Discuss Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Economy and COVID-19

HARRISBURG – At the request of Senator Bob Mensch (R-24), The Senate Majority Policy Committee will host a workshop discussion with southeastern Pennsylvania employees and employers about the best ways to rebuild the economy following the Governor’s COVID-19 shutdown.

“I have great sympathy for the many businesses and constituents who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 shutdown.  Surely this hearing will provide the many people and businesses that have been affected a great way to tell their experiences to a broader, and caring audience,” said Mensch.  “Even as the state reopens, we must understand and examine the actions that have crippled our state’s economy.  If there’s another situation like COVID-19 we must be better prepared to provide more practical guidance to our businesses – colors alone cannot manage the situation.”

“It’s time to focus on where we go from here and how we provide for our employees and employers,” said Majority Policy Committee chairman Senator David G. Argall (R-29). “We need to get our economy back up and running again.”

The Senate Majority Policy Committee will conduct the workshop on Wednesday, June 24 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
