Local Residents May Apply for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

MAHANOY CITY – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) is reminding local residents that the application process for the state’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is now under way.

“High heating costs often are to blame for vulnerable lives lost during the often cold and brutal winter months,” Argall said. “LIHEAP offers a lifeline for residents unable to heat their homes.”

Argall’s local offices will help residents fill out and submit an application. The senator encourages residents to stop by any of these offices, which he shares with local state representatives to reduce cost without sacrificing constituent service:

–          61 North Third Street, Hamburg

–          One West Centre Street, Mahanoy City (3rd floor)

–          100 North Centre Street, Pottsville

–          Old Route 115 and Route 209, Saylorsburg

–          125 South Walnut Street, Slatington

–          237 West Broad Street, Tamaqua

Individuals who are unsure if they qualify may contact the LIHEAP hotline to determine eligibility at 1-866-857-7095.

If residents have further questions, they can reach Argall’s office toll-free at 1-877-327-4255.
