October 14, 2014 – The Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee holds a public hearing on population loss and homeownership decline in cities. Teri Ooms, Executive Director of the Institute for Public Policy and Economic Development, presented a report detailing the effects of population changes in large and small cities throughout the state.

September 8, 2014 – Senator Argall, left, and Representative Keith Gillespie (R-47), right, tour Harrisburg’s blighted neighborhoods with Mayor Eric Papenfuse, center. Argall and Gillespie chair the Senate and House Urban Affairs Committees, respectively. The chairmen went on a tour to learn more about the city’s efforts to combat blight.

May 15, 2014 – Senator Argall joins the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for a tour of successful abandoned mine reclamation project in Delano Township, Schuylkill County. The project reclaimed 10 acres by eliminating health and safety hazards from the property. The project took less than a year to complete.
March 26, 2014 – A waste scrap tire pile at Coxton Yards in Duryea, Luzerne County is being cleaned up as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate scrap tire piles across Pennsylvania. Since the enactment of the Waste Tire Recycling Act in 1996, sponsored by Senator David G. Argall (R-29), approximately 95 percent of the state’s scrap tires have been cleaned up.

March 13, 2014 – Senator Argall and his daughter, Elise, recently joined the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee’s visit to Clinton County to review the progress of the Game Commission’s ongoing bear management program. This bear cub, two months old, was returned to its mother after being weighed and uated. Many years ago, Senator Argall successfully worked with the General Assembly to completely revise the Game Commission’s bear management requirements and he was very pleased to see the progress which has been made in this area.
