HARRISBURG — Rep. Dane Watro (R-116) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) announced today $300,000 in state funding has been approved for improvements to Columbus Court Park in Hazleton. The funding was awarded by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through the Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2).
“Having safe, welcoming parks is important for our families and our community,” said Watro. “This funding will help make Columbus Court Park a better place for children to play and families to spend time together.”
“I’m pleased this highly competitive funding will improve Columbus Court Park, providing local residents and children with an even better place to enjoy the outdoors,” said Argall.
The funding will be utilized for new walkways, a new parking area, new playground equipment, stormwater management measures, fencing and landscaping.
C2P2 assists local governments and recreation and conservation organizations with funding for projects related to parks, recreation and conservation. The program is funded through a variety of state and federal sources and is administered by DCNR.
