HARRISBURG — The March edition of the local TV program hosted by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) summarizes the 2026 Northeast PA Manufacturers and Employers Association bipartisan legislative roundtable.
This year’s event included 11 legislators — Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) and Reps. JoAnne Stehr (R-107), Robert Leadbeter (R-109), Dane Watro (R-116), Jamie Walsh (R-117), Brenda Pugh (R-120), Eddie Day Pashinski (D-121), Doyle Heffley (R-122), Tim Twardzik (R-123) and Jamie Barton (R-124) — and many manufacturers from throughout the region. The discussion focused on energy and the environment, regulatory reform, taxes and the economy, education, health care, transportation and infrastructure.
“I look forward to this roundtable every year because it gives us a chance to hear from some of our most important local employers,” Argall said.
During the discussion, Argall highlighted his plans to hold a Senate Majority Policy Committee hearing at downtown Pottsville’s new Miners 1928 Hotel to discuss future energy costs and service — an important topic for manufacturers and consumers.
Barton pointed out that two vacant buildings are being developed into much-needed student housing and Temple University’s first-ever rural dental education center and clinic in downtown Tamaqua, a key medical need for employees and employers.
“Rep. Barton, Congressman Dan Meuser and I secured state and federal funding for this project, in addition to investments from the Morgan Foundation and the Tamaqua CRIZ,” Argall said. “The 24-chair dental education center and clinic will open this fall as a state-of-the-art learning facility, a gamechanger for rural dental care in northeast Pennsylvania.”
