The November edition of the local TV program hosted by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) touches on two very important issues – veterans workforce initiatives and the ongoing battle against blight throughout the state.
Earlier this year, Argall chaired a Senate Majority Policy Committee public hearing to review successful programs to connect veterans with health care and meaningful employment. Brig. Gen. Mark Goodwill, the director of the Joint Staff of the Pennsylvania National Guard, shared the good work the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs does to support veterans returning from deployment.
“Helping our veterans find stability is the least we can do when they return home to their families,” Argall said. “We should never leave behind any of our friends and neighbors who dedicated their lives to defending our nation and our freedoms.”
It’s well documented that one of Argall’s top priorities is breathing new life into old towns. The consequences of blighted, decaying, and rat-infested buildings are one of the toughest challenges many neighborhoods face. While everyone can agree that we should tear down these vacant buildings, finding the dollars necessary can be difficult. Argall’s Senate Bill 345, which was recently approved with bipartisan support by the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee, will provide even more funding to demolish blighted buildings throughout our communities.
