DANVILLE – At the invitation of Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27), Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) will chair a public roundtable of the Senate Majority Policy Committee in Danville about mental health services in both urban and rural areas of Pennsylvania. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 5 at 10 a.m. at the newly constructed Geisinger Behavioral Health Center located at 206 Marie Hall Drive in Danville.
“Mental health is a growing concern in many of our communities, especially in rural areas like much of the 27th District,” stated Culver. “We have a lot of great resources available and community organizations that are working hard to provide care to those who need it. I appreciate the Senate Majority Policy Committee coming to Danville to hear from local professionals on what is working and what may be needed from a policy perspective to help improve access and support across Pennsylvania. I also want to thank Geisinger and Acadia for hosting this conversation at their brand-new mental health facility.”
“This committee has heavily focused its work this year on healthcare shortages and how they affect families across Pennsylvania,” said Argall. “I look forward to continuing this important discussion and learning more about the efforts by Geisinger and Acadia to expand behavioral health services in Danville.”
Panelists will include state and local mental health professionals. The public roundtable will be livestreamed on the Senate Majority Policy Committee’s website.
