LIMERICK – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) and Senate Majority Policy Committee chairman Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) toured the 60,000 sq. ft. lab space of Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. today to learn more about their operations and the blooming life science industry in southeast Pennsylvania. During the tour, they discussed how state government could contribute to advancing this important industry.
“The Greater Philadelphia region is building a reputation worldwide not only for its growing life science sector but also its talented, highly skilled workforce,” said Pennycuick. “We’re seeing innovative companies like Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. continue to invest in the southeast. As legislators, we seek ways to assist those companies expanding here and to encourage companies from around the world to come locate here.”
“As the chairwoman of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee, Sen. Pennycuick is a key leader in our efforts to encourage the development of the industries of tomorrow in Pennsylvania,” said Argall. “Today’s tour was beneficial as we continue to review opportunities to bring new family-sustaining jobs to Pennsylvania.”
Rockland specializes in antibody and protein production capabilities. They are a leading partner in the global life science community and have developed reliable antibody-based products for the academic, diagnostic, and biopharma industries. They employ 130 people across their facilities in Limerick and Aachen, Germany.
The Senate Majority Policy Committee will continue hosting public hearings and roundtables in the coming weeks, visiting Danville to review mental health and northeast Pennsylvania to review AI data centers.
