Over $3.3 Million in Sewer and Water Grants Awarded to Schuylkill County Communities

HARRISBURG – State grants totaling over $3.3 million were awarded to projects to improve sewer and water systems in Schuylkill County, according to Sen. Dave Argall, Rep. JoAnne Stehr, and Rep. Tim Twardzik.

“Outdated sewer systems can pollute our local creeks,” said Argall. “This highly competitive state funding will improve waterways throughout Schuylkill County.”

“I am thrilled that our community has been awarded this vital grant funding. This significant investment will improve and repair critical parts of local infrastructure and improve the overall well-being of the people who reside here,” said Stehr. “This is a positive opportunity that will provide lasting change for the betterment of our community.

“We are very pleased to announce that an important Ashland Area Municipal Authority 300,000 gallon finished water tank project will be funded through a Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant award,” said Twardzik. “Senator Argall and I joined forces to support this safety and quality of life upgrade for the Ashland community. Having Senator Argall’s experience is beneficial when locating and successfully securing funding for important projects throughout Schuylkill County.”
