Senator Argall Announces Committee Assignments

HARRISBURG – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) has been appointed by President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to five committees in the Senate of Pennsylvania for the 2011-2012 Legislative Session.

Senator Argall will serve on Aging & Youth, Appropriations, Community, Economic & Recreational Development, Inter-Governmental Operations and Urban Affairs & Housing Committees. Senator Argall will serve as Vice-Chairman of Urban Affairs & Housing Committee. Senator Argall is also continuing to serve on the Joint Legislative Air & Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee.

“I am honored to represent the people of Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill Counties on these committees. These assignments will be very valuable in assisting with the most pressing issues we face in East Central Pennsylvania,” stated Senator Argall.

Senator Argall continued, “I look forward to continuing to address downtown revitalization issues as Vice-Chairman of the Urban Affairs & Housing Committee. Last session, we were able to unanimously pass Senate Bill 900, our new anti-blight law, along with other downtown improvements to encourage job growth in our communities.”

“I am looking forward to implementing the findings of the Senate’s bi-partisan 2010 Cost-Cutting Commission and balancing the state budget without an increase in spending or taxes on the Appropriations Committee. These committees meet the needs and concerns of the residents of the 29th district,” concluded Senator Argall.
