HARRISBURG – Pine Grove Township will receive a $415,000 grant from the PA Small Water and Sewer fund for upgrades to their water system, according to Senator David G. Argall and Representative Mike Tobash.
“I am thankful this vitally important project received this funding to support local employers,” said Argall. “Projects like this are critical for the smooth functioning of our communities. This project will provide a great benefit to businesses in the I-81 area.”
“The project is extremely important for continued economic growth in the Pine Grove area. The interchange at I-81 has seen positive growth, but in order for that to continue the proper infrastructure needs to be in place,” said Tobash.
The grant will be used to extend public water facilities to the west side of I-81 in Pine Grove Township. While there are businesses currently in that location, they currently rely on private water wells and have no public fire protection currently. This project will allow them to access public water and could encourage future development at this location.
