Argall to be honored for conservation leadership

POTTSTOWN – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) will receive the 2019 Political Leader Award from the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area on April 11 at a special ceremony in Philadelphia.

The award is in recognition of Argall’s contributions to projects in the Schuylkill River watershed, from McAdoo and Coaldale and Minersville to Hamburg and Philadelphia.

“The Schuylkill River watershed means so much to our region, in terms of the health and safety of our communities and our recreational opportunities. Many have worked together to improve the river along our small towns and large cities in the last 50 years and I’m honored to have helped to make the river cleaner,” Argall said. “Biking and boating and walking my dogs along the river has created a deep personal connection to our streams and rivers, so it is an honor to continue my work , with so many volunteers and professionals, so that future generations can enjoy this important part of our local heritage.”

Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area works to connect residents and visitors to the Schuylkill River and Trail. More information on programs and projects to support this natural treasure is available at www.schuylkillriver.org.
