Argall Invites Public to Local Healthcare Reform Discussion
HARRISBURG – Interested in learning more about healthcare
reform and how it affects you? State Senator David G. Argall (R-29) is inviting
the public to meet with local employees, employers and healthcare providers in a
December 3 forum titled: Reforming Healthcare: The Pennsylvania Perspective.
Representatives from the AFL-CIO, Pennsylvania Chamber of
Business and Industry, Schuylkill Chamber, Hospital and Healthsystem
Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Pennsylvania Association for Justice,
Capitol Blue Cross, and the Schuylkill Alliance for Healthcare Access will come
together to discuss some of the most controversial healthcare reform initiatives
on the state and federal levels.
"No greater debate is at the state and national forefront
right now than the access to high-quality, affordable healthcare," said Argall.
"Meeting after meeting, town-hall after town-hall is being held across this
country to discuss this very important issue. While there are competing
philosophies being considered, the bottom line is preserving the quality and
improving the affordability of healthcare. The question is – how? I look
forward to hearing diverse perspectives and sustainable options from our panel
and the public to address this very complex issue," Argall added.
The forum, scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 7:30
a.m., will be held at Penn State University – Schuylkill Campus – Health and
Wellness Center, 200 University Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
Those attending are asked to contact Senator Argall's
office at 570-773-0891 or 1-877-DARGALL, no later than November 30. Seating is
limited. There is no cost for this event.
